Local Guidelines

Mullaloo is a popular family beach and becomes very crowded in summer especially on weekends.

Seek an alternative location on weekends in light winds (below 15 Knots) due to a large number of families frequenting the beach.

Absolutely NO KITING IN FRONT OF THE SURF CLUB. Always rig/ launch/ land at least 250m North of the surf club. Always remain downwind of all other beach users.

The surf club have patrolled areas identified by flags on the beach. Always remain 250m upwind, downwind and off shore from these flagged zones. Always remain 250m upwind, downwind and offshore from directly in front of the surf club building whenever doing a downwinder from Pinnaroo Point.

The fence line has recently been extended by the local council and now seriously restricts opportunities for launching and landing. Extreme caution should be exercised when launching and landing.

Due to the high volume of beach/ water users and the close proximity of the surf club, it is recommended that all kiters have public liability insurance. This is included with annual WAKSA membership.

Windsurfers and surfers frequent the northern end of the beach. Please be respectful and give way to all other water users.

Normal surf and windsurfing priority rules apply when riding waves.

Thieves operate in the car parks and on the beach, don’t leave any valuables in your vehicle or on the beach. 

Water Condition

Small to medium waves breaking on sand banks close to the beach. Wind chop out the back.

Beach Condition

White sandy beach that can be narrow in places. Very popular family beach. Always stay downwind of all other beach users. Swimming flags will be placed at various locations along the beach. Always remain 250m outside of the flagged zone.
